On the afternoon of June 30, the opening ceremony of the WIPO-China Summer School, jointly organized by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and Nanjing University of Science and Technology, was successfully held. We joined hands with the School of Intellectual Property at Nanjing University of Science and Technology again to provide professional simultaneous interpretation services for the opening ceremony and subsequent lectures. This event continued to adopt an "online+ offline" hybrid mode, enabling global participants to access without barriers.

Liu Hua, Director of the World Intellectual Property Organization Office in China, Qi Yong, Dean of the Jiangsu Intellectual Property Research Institute at Nanjing University of Science and Technology, delivered speeches respectively, and Shu Yi, Level IV Division Rank Official of the Office of Foreign Exchange and Cooperation of the Jiangsu Provincial Intellectual Property Bureau, delivered speeches. Attendees included Xu Caihe, Deputy Director of the Intellectual Property Strategy Promotion Division of the Nanjing Intellectual Property Bureau, along with leaders from the  Publicity Department of the CPC Nanjing University of Science and Technology Committee, Office of International Exchange and Cooperation, School of International Education, and other departments. Experts and scholars from universities, research institutions, and practical fields in China, Germany, the United States, the United Kingdom, and other countries, as well as 207 participants from 14 countries, attended the event through an "online+ offline" mode.

It is understood that this summer school adopts a teaching model integrating online and offline learning, as well as a combination of theory and practice, with courses covering cutting-edge topics such as “Inventions and Intellectual Property”, “AI Patent Commercialization”, “Global Standard Essential Patent Litigation”, and “Digital Design Protection”. More than 20 internationally renowned experts were invited to lecture, including former WIPO Director General Francis Gurry, Professor Zheng Wentong from the University of Florida, and Professor Tanya Aplin from King’s College London. Following procedures including individual applications and written selection, the 2025 WIPO-China Summer School admitted a total of 207 outstanding participants from around the world, including 37 university students and young intellectual property professionals from countries such as the United Kingdom, Italy, India, Pakistan, Ghana, the Philippines, Bangladesh, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Mexico, and Yemen. Participants who complete all course requirements will receive a certificate of completion jointly issued by WIPO and Nanjing University of Science and Technology.

Over the past three years of cooperation, we have continuously optimized our service details, established a complete terminology database for specialized terms in the field of intellectual property, and cultivated a group of senior translators familiar with this sector. During this cooperation period, interpreters conducted in-depth research on the course materials and maintained close communication with the university, striving to achieve excellence in language services. In the future, we will continue to leverage our strengths to support more international academic exchange projects and contribute to promoting international cooperation and knowledge dissemination in the intellectual property area.
