The 2026 IEEE PES China Satellite Technical Committee - Transmission and Distribution (TDSTC) Annual Meeting was held in Beijing on May 22-23. More than 200 attendees participated in the meeting, including special guests from the IEEE PES Transmission & Distribution Committee and the IEEE PES Localized Technical Activities Committee, council members of the IEEE PES Transmission & Distribution Satellite Committee - China and its technical subcommittees, members of the IEEE PES Working Group on Digital Twin for Power Equipment, as well as representatives from power companies, research institutes, universities, design entities, and manufacturing enterprises. Four sub-forums were also held, namely the Inaugural Meeting of the Digital Twin Committee of the Electric Power Technology Collaboration and Exchange on Application Technologies for Digital Twin for Power Systems, the Overhead Line Technical Subcommittee Sub-Forum, the Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Technical Subcommittee Sub-Forum, and the Rural Power Supply and Microgrid Technical Subcommittee Sub-Forum, providing a professional platform for in-depth discussions and achievement sharing across various fields.

The meeting was chaired by Meng Xiaoli, Secretary General of the IEEE PES Transmission & Distribution Satellite Committee - China and Level II Specialist at China Electric Power Research Institute Co., Ltd. At the opening ceremony, Dong Xuzhu, Chair of the Presidium of the IEEE PES Transmission & Distribution Satellite Committee - China, delivered a speech. Chung Chi-yung, President of IEEE PES, Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering and Chair Professor in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, congratulated the convening of the annual meeting via video message, and Robert Schaerer, Vice Chair of the IEEE PES Transmission & Distribution (T&D) Committee, also delivered remarks.

During the main forum, experts delivered insightful presentations on frontier topics in the energy sector. Xiang Haiping, Vice President of the China Society for Hydropower Engineering, Chief Expert of the China Energy Research Society, and former Chief Engineer of the National Energy Administration, delivered a keynote report titled "Deeply implement the national 15th Five-Year Plan outline and accelerate the construction of an energy powerhouse." Gao Ximing, General Manager of EHV Power Transmission Company of China Southern Power Grid and Vice Chairman of the IEEE PES Transmission & Distribution Satellite Committee - China, delivered a keynote report titled "Breakthroughs in submarine cable transmission technology and operation & maintenance practices." Drawing on the development history of the Hainan interconnection project, he shared key technological innovation achievements and operation and maintenance experience in the field of submarine cable transmission. Wang Qing, Head of the DC Division of the Equipment Management Department of State Grid Corporation of China and Deputy Director of the Digital Twin Committee of the Electric Power Technology Collaboration, delivered a keynote report titled "Key technologies and application practices of digital twins for main equipment in converter stations"
